15 September 2024 11:32

Richard Moore, Chief of the British Secret Intelligence Service (MI6), is currently visiting Azerbaijan.

During his visit, Moore delivered a lecture at ADA University in Baku, sharing insights and perspectives on intelligence and security matters, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.

Moore's visit to Azerbaijan highlights the ongoing engagement between the UK and Azerbaijan in various strategic areas.

His lecture at ADA University provided an opportunity for students and faculty to gain valuable knowledge from the head of one of the world's most prominent intelligence agencies.

Prior to his current role, Richard Moore served as the British Ambassador to Türkiye from 2014 to 2018, where he played a significant role in strengthening UK-Türkiye relations. His extensive diplomatic experience continues to contribute to his work in overseeing MI6 operations and fostering international cooperation on security issues.

The Secret Intelligence Service (SIS), commonly known as MI6 (Military Intelligence, Section 6), is the foreign intelligence service of the United Kingdom, tasked mainly with the covert overseas collection and analysis of human intelligence on foreign nationals in support of its Five Eyes partners. SIS is one of the British intelligence agencies and the Chief of the Secret Intelligence Service ("C") is directly accountable to the Foreign Secretary.
