Azerbaijan sees 7.8% rise in gas pipeline revenues
Azerbaijan's revenues from its main gas pipelines, including the South Caucasus Pipeline (SCP), amounted to 1.359 billion manats ($799.9 million) in the first half of 2024, having increased by 7.8% compared to the same period of 2023.
According to the country's State Statistics Committee, losses in the main gas pipeline network decreased by 37.4% in the first half of 2024, equaling 23.8 million cubic metres, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.
During this period, 20.54 billion cubic meters of gas were transported through the main pipelines, marking a 1.3% increase compared to the first half of 2023. The South Caucasus Pipeline accounted for 55.6% of the total volume transported.
In 2023, Azerbaijan's revenues from its main gas pipelines, including the SCP, totalled 2.516 billion manats, reflecting an 8.1% increase. However, network losses rose by 18.2% to 59.8 million cubic meters by the end of the year.
