Azerbaijani manat to remain stable in 2025
The Azerbaijani Finance Ministry has announced that while preparing the consolidated and state budgets for Azerbaijan for 2025, the price of one barrel of Azeri Light oil has been set at $70, which is $5 less than the price set for 2024.
Azerbaijan plans to allocate 6.658 billion manats ($3.916 billion) for defence and security expenditures in 2025. This represents a 6.6 per cent decrease compared to the approved forecast for 2024, Caliber.Az reports, citing the ministry.
The US dollar is forecasted to be at 1.7 manats in Azerbaijan in 2025. The national currency has remained stable since March 7, 2018. Azerbaijan's state budget revenues are projected to reach 36.616 billion manats ($21.5 billion) in 2025, reflecting a 0.6 per cent increase compared to the previous year's forecast. Expenditures are expected to be 39.668 billion manats ($23.3 billion), which is a 0.2 per cent decrease. Consequently, the state budget is anticipated to run a deficit of 3.052 billion manats ($1.795 billion), representing a 9 per cent reduction year-over-year.
