Azerbaijan, Switzerland emphasize successful development of bilateral ties PHOTO

A parliamentary delegation headed by Speaker of the Azerbaijani parliament Sahiba Gafarova, who is on an official visit to Switzerland, met with Swiss Vice President Alain Berset on May 11.

“While welcoming the Azerbaijani delegation, Berset expressed gratification with the successful development of bilateral relations between two countries in the field of politics, economy, energy and others,” the Press and PR department of Azerbaijani parliament told APA.

Berset stressed that Switzerland considers Azerbaijan as an important partner.

In turn, Speaker of the Azerbaijani parliament Sahiba Gafarova expressed gratitude for the hospitality.

Gafarova stressed that Azerbaijan and Switzerland are friendly countries and partners, adding that high-level political ties between two countries give impetus to further expansion of cooperation in various fields.

The speaker of the Azerbaijani parliament stressed that mutual visits and high-level meetings play an exceptional role in the development of bilateral ties.

During the meeting, Gafarova spoke about Azerbaijan’s victory in the second Armenia-Azerbaijan Karabakh war and the situation after the restoration of Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity, as well as about the steps which are taken towards the normalization of relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia.

The views on other issues of mutual interest were exchanged during the meeting.
