Azerbaijan adopts declaration at international conference on missing people
An international conference titled "Addressing the Problem of Missing Persons: Upholding the Right to Know for the Families" has concluded in Azerbaijan’s capital Baku.
The conference was organised by the State Commission on Prisoners of War, Hostages, and Missing People in collaboration with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), Caliber.Az reports via local media.
The conference featured panel sessions focusing on four key themes, namely, the challenges of missing people in the context of trust-building, reconciliation, and peace; safeguarding families' rights to know the truth and meeting their needs; the experience of families of missing people and addressing their challenges; advancements and obstacles in the search, recovery, and forensic identification of missing people’s remains.
A final declaration was adopted at the end of the panel discussions.
