Azerbaijani parliament to review some agreements with Pakistan
The bills on the ratification of the agreements on preferential trade and air transport between Azerbaijan and Pakistan have been submitted to the Azerbaijani parliament.
Thus, the bills titled "On the Ratification of the Agreement on Preferential Trade between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan" and "On the Approval of the Agreement on Air Transport between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan" have been submitted, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
Moreover, these bills were discussed during a meeting of the Committee on International and Inter-Parliamentary Relations, which recommended them for consideration at the parliamentary plenary session.
Trade and economic relations between Azerbaijan and Pakistan have recently undergone rapid development. Last year, the two friendly countries made significant progress in the energy and tourism sectors, and agreements on preferential trade and transit corridors have been recently signed. Building on this foundation, Baku and Islamabad aim to increase trade turnover, promote investment projects in the non-oil sector, establish joint ventures, and implement initiatives in "green" energy.
