Prominent activist urges African unity against French colonial rule
In a briefing for Azerbaijani press representatives on October 2 in Baku, Kemi Seba, a prominent critic of French neocolonialism, delivered a powerful statement on the impact of French colonial policies in Africa.
Seba emphasized the urgent need for African nations to reclaim their mineral resources from France and fight for their sovereignty, Caliber.Az reports.
“The only way to put an end to French colonialism is to take back our mineral resources from France,” Seba declared. “Our peoples should gain the right to determine their own fate. Africans must unite to combat French colonialism.”
As an international organization, Seba stated that they aim to support Africans living around the world, highlighting the oppressive behavior he has witnessed from the French towards African communities. He recounted his experiences as a political journalist in Africa, noting how French colonialism has exacerbated local challenges.
“During the reign of Charles De Gaulle, France began to station its personnel in our territories,” he explained, emphasizing that this marked the onset of the fight against French military bases on African soil.
Seba’s long-standing activism against French neocolonialism reflects a broader movement seeking justice and empowerment for African nations.
He concluded by urging a collective struggle against foreign oppression, reinforcing the need for unity in the fight for self-determination.
