Azerbaijani chess players advance in world rankings
New rankings of the International Chess Federation (FIDE) have been revealed.
The positions of Azerbaijani chess players Teymur Rajabov (2747 points, 11th place) and Shahriyar Mammadyarov (2740 points, 14th place) have not changed in the list headed by Norwegian world chess champion Magnus Carlsen (2859 points), according to Azertag.
Azerbaijani chess player Gadir Huseynov (2661 points) ranks 84th, while Rauf Mammadov and Nijat Abbasov are not in the TOP-100.
Chinese chess player Hou Yifan (2638 points) on top of the women's list.
Azerbaijani female chess players Khanim Balajayeva and Gulnar Mammadova advanced two spots to rank ranks 71st (2379 points) and 76th (2376 points), respectively.
Meanwhile, Gunay Mammadzade, Ulviyya Fataliyeva and Govhar Beydullayeva lost one position each. Mammadzade (2472 points) ranked 21st, Fataliyeva (2428 points) - 37th, while Beydullayeva (2387 points) - 63rd.
