FIFA chief Infantino arrives in Tashkent after Azerbaijan visit PHOTO
FIFA President Gianni Infantino has arrived in Tashkent on a working visit to review preparations for the 2027 FIFA U-20 World Cup, Uzbek media reports.
The tournament will be held in Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan.
Infantino arrived from Baku at Tashkent Humo International Airport aboard a Gulfstream G650ER operated by Qatar Executive. He was welcomed by Uzbekistan Sports Minister Adham Ikramov and Ravshan Irmatov, First Vice-President of the Uzbekistan Football Association.

During his visit, Infantino is due to inspect sports facilities and review preparations for the tournament.
One of the matches will be held at a stadium in New Tashkent with a capacity of 55,000. Construction began in November 2025, and the project is estimated to cost $100 million.
