Azerbaijan kickboxers win 16 medals at WAKO World Championships PHOTO

Azerbaijan’s national kickboxing team won 16 medals at the WAKO World Championships for juniors and young adults in Jesolo, Italy, including 10 golds.

The championships were held from September 18 to 27 and brought together competitors from 79 countries.

According to Caliber.Az, Azerbaijan finished 11th in the overall standings and third for medals won in ring disciplines.

Seven of the team’s 10 gold medals were won in the junior category and three in the youth category. The team also claimed four silver and two bronze medals.

Azerbaijani ring judges Aydin Koch Agabeyev and Anar Mammadov confirmed their international Category A status. Mammadov was also named the tournament’s Best Ring Judge.
