Baku hosts opening ceremony for 10th Azerbaijan Grand Prix

The opening ceremony of the 10th Azerbaijan Grand Prix of the Formula 1 World Championship was held at the Baku City Circuit ahead of the main race.

The Azerbaijani national anthem was performed before the start of the race by Azerbaijani People’s Artist and world-renowned tenor Yusif Eyvazov, Caliber.Az reports per local media.

Following the performance, attention turned to the Formula 1 drivers as the main race got underway at 15:00 (GMT+4).

The design of the Azerbaijan Grand Prix trophy features a flame motif, symbolising Azerbaijan’s identity as the “Land of Fire.”

The sides of the trophy also feature patterns inspired by the country’s carpet-weaving traditions, combining the dynamics of Formula 1 with Azerbaijan’s national heritage.
