Red Bull’s Verstappen beats Mercedes to top spot in Baku final practice

Red Bull’s Max Verstappen set the fastest time in the third and final free practice session for the Azerbaijan Formula 1 Grand Prix in Baku.

Mercedes driver George Russell finished second, with Ferrari’s Lewis Hamilton third, according to local media.

The session began at 12:30 local time. Russell had topped both of Friday’s opening practice sessions before Verstappen took the fastest time in the final session.

Qualifying is scheduled for 16:00 on Friday and will determine the starting order for the race.

The Azerbaijan Grand Prix will be held on September 26.
