Azerbaijan to face Armenia in ninth round of chess olympiad

Azerbaijan’s men’s national chess team will face Armenia in the ninth round of the World Chess Olympiad in Samarkand on September 25.

The Azerbaijani women’s team will also be in action, taking on the Czech Republic in their ninth-round match, Caliber.Az reports via local media. 

After eight rounds, Azerbaijan’s men’s team sits fifth in the standings with 13 points, while the women’s team is currently 21st with 11 points.

The World Chess Olympiad features 11 rounds and is scheduled to conclude on September 27 in Samarkand.
