Azerbaijani First Deputy Defence Minister and Chief of the Azerbaijani Army’s General Staff Col-Gen Karim Valiyev has led a delegation to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan at the invitation of Pakistani Army Ground Forces Commander Asim Munir.
Valiyev is expected to meet the Pakistani top brass and visit a number of military enterprises, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Azerbaijani Defence Ministry.
Pakistan and Azerbaijan marked the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations in 2022. Pakistan and Azerbaijan share a special political bond that transcends their geographical distance. It allows for collaboration in a variety of fields, particularly those related to the military and business.
Pakistan was among the first countries to express political support for Azerbaijan during the 44-day war with Armenia in 2020. Pakistan also supports Azerbaijan in the restoration of the country's liberated territories.
