Azerbaijan, Türkiye solidify military partnership in strategic border security meeting PHOTO
On December 23, the Commander of the Turkish Land Forces, General of the Army Selçuk Bayraktaroğlu, visited Azerbaijan and held talks with Colonel-General Elchin Guliyev, the Head of the State Border Service (SBS).
During the meeting, discussions focused on the defence and border security relations between the two countries, Caliber.Az reports via press service of the SBS.
The talks highlighted that the strong, sincere relationship between the heads of the two states forms the foundation for the development of high-level cooperation in defence and border security.
There was also confidence expressed in the continued successful development of mutual cooperation.
The meeting also saw high praise for the bilateral ties between the State Border Service and the Turkish Land Forces Command, with an exchange of views on the prospects for future collaboration.
Meanwhile, Azerbaijan's Defence Minister Colonel General Zakir Hasanov met with a Turkish military delegation led by Army General Selçuk Bayraktaroğlu.
The delegation visited the Alley of Honour to pay respects at the graves of Azerbaijan's National Leader Heydar Aliyev and academician Zarifa Aliyeva, as well as the Alley of Martyrs and Turkish Martyrs' Cemetery.
During their meeting, Hasanov highlighted the strong military ties between Azerbaijan and Türkiye, stressing the importance of fully implementing the Shusha Declaration. General Bayraktaroğlu emphasized the unbreakable friendship between the nations and the significance of their High-Level Military Dialogue.
Further discussions focused on enhancing military collaboration, joint exercises, and adapting the Azerbaijan Army to the Turkish Armed Forces model.
