Azerbaijani female chess players to take part in European Championship

The next Women's European Chess Championship kicks off tomorrow in Prague.

According to azerisport.com, 125 chess players, including a representative of Azerbaijan, have applied for the championship.

Gunay Mammadzade, the leader of the women's national team (rating 2466), is fifth in the championship. Nana Dzagnidze (2531) of Georgia is a favorite of the championship.

Azerbaijan will be represented by Ulviyya Fataliyeva, Gulnar Mammadova, Khanim Baladzhaeva, Govhar Beidullayeva, Sabina Ibragimova, Lyaman Hajiyeva, and Melek Ismail.
