On September 22, 2024, Azerbaijan's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Jeyhun Bayramov, departed for New York to attend the 79th session of the UN General Assembly (UNGA).

This annual gathering is a significant event in the international diplomatic calendar, bringing together representatives from all 193 member states to discuss pressing global issues.

During his visit, Minister Bayramov is set to deliver a speech at the General Assembly, where key topics are expected to include international security, climate change, sustainable development, and humanitarian challenges, Caliber.Az reports citing the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry.

The session typically features high-level debates and opportunities for leaders to present their countries' positions on global matters.

In addition to addressing the General Assembly, Minister Bayramov will participate in several other international events, including side meetings and forums that focus on collaboration among nations on various issues.

Bilateral meetings with officials from various countries and leaders of international organizations are also on the agenda during this high-level week. These discussions will provide a platform for Azerbaijan to strengthen diplomatic ties and advocate for its national interests on the global stage, particularly in areas like regional security, energy cooperation, and international partnerships.

Overall, Minister Bayramov's visit underscores Azerbaijan's commitment to engaging with the international community and addressing significant challenges faced by nations today.
