Constitutional Court validates results of Milli Majlis elections UPDATED

At the Plenum of the Constitutional Court of Azerbaijan, Chairman of the Central Election Commission Mazahir Panahov presented an overview of the snap elections to the Milli Majlis (Parliament) of Azerbaijan held on September 1.
Panahov noted that voting took place at 6,478 polling stations across 125 constituencies, with 990 candidates vying for parliamentary seats, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
He detailed that the candidates had access to 5,506 campaign spaces, including 3,469 open areas and 2,037 enclosed venues, facilitating effective engagement with voters. Panahov emphasized the commitment to transparency, stating that comprehensive provisions were made for local and international observers, as well as representatives from the media during the election preparation, voting, and post-election phases.
In a notable initiative, web cameras were installed at 1,000 polling stations in 119 districts, allowing internet users—both domestically and internationally—to monitor the electoral process via the Central Election Commission’s website.
Following Panahov's address, the judges of the Constitutional Court convened for further discussions on the election results.

The Plenum of the Constitutional Court of Azerbaijan has convened to review the results of the recent elections to the Milli Majlis (Parliament).
The Central Election Commission (CEC) has submitted the election results, along with necessary documentation, to the Constitutional Court for validation and approval of the election protocol, Caliber.Az reports per local media.
Judge Rovshan Ismayilov announced the session's commencement, stating that the Plenum will examine the CEC's protocol regarding the extraordinary parliamentary elections held on September 1. Voting took place at 6,478 polling stations across 125 districts, with 990 candidates vying for 125 parliamentary seats.
The final protocol detailing the election outcomes was compiled and signed by the CEC members on September 16.
Under the Electoral Code, this protocol was presented to the Constitutional Court to ensure its compliance with Azerbaijan's Constitution.
The Constitutional Court has ten days from receiving the documents to verify the election results. This timeframe may be extended if further verification is deemed necessary. During the session, Chairman Farhad Abdullayev also introduced the members and secretary of the court.
