Azerbaijani grandmaster ranks second in rapid chess as part of India’s tournament
The Tata Steel Chess Tournament is being held in Kolkata, India.
Ten chess players are competing there. Azerbaijani chess player Teymur Radjabov played three more games on the third day of the tournament. First, Radjabov competed with Dommaraju Gukesh (India), then shared points with Arjun Erigaisi (India) and Maxime Vachier-Lagrave (France), according to azerisport.com.
After nine matches, Radjabov scored 5.5 points and became second in the rapid chess. Vachier-Lagrave ranked first (seven points).
Indian chess players Rameshbabu Praggnanandhaa, Pentala Harikrishna, Vidit Santosh, German chess player Vincent Keymer, Alexander Grischuk (FIDE) and Uzbek chess player Nodirbek Abdusattorov are also participating in the tournament.
The tournament participants will play blitz on September 8.
The tournament will end on September 9.
