Azerbaijani grandmaster to join international rapidplay tournament

Azerbaijani chess grandmaster Shahriyar Mammadyarov will take part in the international rapidplay chess tournament in Uzbekistan.

The 38-year-old grandmaster left for Uzbekistan on March 27, Report informs, citing the Azerbaijan Chess Federation.

Along with Mammadyarov, the tournament will feature famous chess players like Alexander Grishchuk (from Russia), Nodirbek Abdusattarov and Rustam Kasimdzhanov (both from Uzbekistan).

The first vice-president of the Azerbaijan Chess Federation Faig Hasanov will be the chief judge of the tournament.
The prize fund for the three-day tournament is $50,000.
