Azerbaijani sappers defuse over 60 mines in liberated lands

The Azerbaijan Mine Action Agency (ANAMA) has published weekly information (December 18-24) on operations carried out in the liberated territories by the structures involved in demining.

The agency noted that 11 anti-tank mines, 53 anti-personnel mines and 307 unexploded ordnance (UXO) were found and neutralised during the period, according to Caliber.Az.

Last week, 487.7 hectares of territory was cleared of mines and UXO.

Armenia planted land mines in Azerbaijani territory, not only during the 30-year-long occupation but also just days before leaving the Azerbaijani lands, as envisaged in the trilateral declaration to cause human casualties.

Civilians and military personnel are frequently maimed or killed as a result of mine explosions in Azerbaijan's liberated regions.
