Rome blast destroys vehicle of prominent Rai journalist VIDEO
The car of renowned Italian journalist Sigfrido Ranucci, host of the investigative programme Report on Rai, was destroyed in an explosion in Rome on October 16.
According to Rai, the blast was powerful enough to damage several nearby vehicles and a building close to the scene. Miraculously, no one was injured. Ranucci revealed that his daughter had walked past the car just minutes before the explosion, narrowly avoiding the epicentre.
The journalist suggested the attack could be linked to his professional work and upcoming investigations. Authorities said the explosive device had been placed under the vehicle.
Police, special units, and firefighters quickly responded to the incident. An investigation is underway to determine the circumstances and motives behind the attack.
Video footage circulating online shows the car with a severely deformed bonnet and debris scattered across the surrounding area.
