EU proposes up to €100 billion cooperation program for Ukraine

The draft of the European Union’s next long-term budget proposes allocating up to €100 billion for a new cooperation program with Ukraine, European Council President António Costa has said.

In an interview with Ukrinform, he noted that the EU’s new political season, which begins in September, will be marked by the adoption of the bloc’s next long-term budget and progress on EU enlargement to include Ukraine, Moldova and the Western Balkan countries, Caliber.Az reports.

“The issue is currently being discussed by the member states, but the European Commission’s proposal includes a new cooperation program with Ukraine worth up to €100 billion,” Costa stressed.

The draft EU budget for 2028–2034 envisages record overall spending of around €2 trillion.
