Envoy: EU pleased to see progress in Azerbaijan-Armenia border delimitation
EU Ambassador to Azerbaijan Peter Michalko has said that the European Union hails the continuity of the peace process between Azerbaijan and Armenia and is pleased to see progress in the border delimitation between the countries.
He made the remarks at a meeting with journalists on the occasion of World Press Freedom Day, Report informs.
The Ambassador recalled that the European Union was involved in supporting the peace process and negotiations between Baku and Yerevan.
"We see that negotiations on the peace agreement are continuing and the process of border delimitation is underway," Mihalko said, adding that the European Union is ready to continue supporting the peace process between Azerbaijan and Armenia.
As previously reported, in accordance with the agreements that were reached following the 8th meeting of the State Commission of the Republic of Azerbaijan on the delimitation of the state border between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Armenia and the Commission of the Republic of Armenia on the delimitation of the state border and border security between the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan, expert groups of two countries on the border of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Armenia began the process of clarifying coordinates based on geodetic measurements on the ground.
As of April 29, 2024, more than half of the planned work has been completed, 35 border pillars have been installed. The work of expert groups of the two states continues.
