Eurostat: EU imported historical valuables worth nearly €20 million in January
In January, the European Union brought from different countries historical valuables over 100 years old for almost 20 million euros, with the most rarities coming from the UK and the US, and Russia was in fifth place.
According to Eurostat, at the end of January this year, the EU imported antiques age from 100 years for 19.9 million euros, Caliber.Az reports, citing foreign media.
For a month, the value volume of imported rarities decreased by 1.8 times, and in annual terms - increased by 1.5 times.
The Union imported most of all valuables from Great Britain - for 9.5 million euros, from the United States - for almost 7 million euros and from Hong Kong - for 1.1 million euros. Switzerland followed with 777 thousand euros.
Other countries in the top ten for antique exports to the EU included Japan (335,800 euros), Australia (94,800 euros), Singapore (91,500 euros), Canada (58,400 euros), and Chile (29,300 euros).
