Ukraine’s NABU planned “Emperor” operation to arrest Prosecutor General But Ruslan Kravchenko moved first

14 September 2026 15:55

Ukraine’s National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) was preparing a large-scale operation codenamed “Emperor” to arrest Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko, Ukrainian parliament member Oleksiy Honcharenko said on his Telegram channel.

According to the lawmaker, NABU detectives were expected to formally notify Kravchenko of suspicion this week and release damaging audio recordings allegedly involving him.

However, an unexpected preemptive move by the prosecutor general reportedly disrupted the planned release of the compromising material. Realizing that the investigation was closing in on him, Kravchenko allegedly acted first by urgently filing counter-allegations against NABU Director Semen Kryvonos, after which he immediately left the country.

The senior official sought to present his departure abroad as an urgent “business trip.”
