Ferrari: Baku circuit poses unique challenges for drivers

The Scuderia Ferrari team is determined to replicate their victory at the Italian Grand Prix in Monza during the upcoming Azerbaijan Grand Prix on the city circuit in Baku.

The team’s General Manager and Team Principal made the statement before the start of the race weekend in Baku, Caliber.Az reports, citing F1news.

“The victory in Italy also confirms my view that the way the team spends the whole weekend from Friday to Sunday plays as important a role as the speed of the car, so together with Charles Leclair and Carlos Sainz we will endeavour to do everything right in Baku. We will try to bring the team another very good result,” Vasseur said.

Vasseur believes that the city circuit in Baku consists of very fast and extremely twisty sections that present the drivers with unique challenges: “We have been quite successful on this circuit in the past and it is one of Charles Leclair's favourites. The team is on the upswing after the win at Monza and we intend to maintain this form.”

The Azerbaijan Grand Prix will be held from September 13 to 15.

The Azerbaijan Grand Prix is a Formula One motor racing event that was held for the first time in 2017. It is held on the Baku City Circuit, a street circuit in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan. The event is due to take place at the Baku City Circuit until at least 2026.
