Finland to allow US military base deployment in its territory

Finland is drafting an agreement with the United States to allow the deployment of American military bases on its territory.

The news came from Helsingin Sanomat, referring to the deputy head of the political department of the country's Foreign Ministry, Mikael Antell.

It is noted that the agreement's details have not yet been determined, but it will not affect nuclear weapons.

"Most importantly, the agreement will ensure unhindered cooperation with the United States in all security situations, as well as in the short term," said Antell, per Helsingin Sanomat.
