Media: Syrian security forces seize missiles bound for Lebanon
Syrian internal security forces have intercepted a shipment of missiles and launchers reportedly destined for Lebanon, officials said.
The operation took place in Homs province near the Lebanese border, according to the state-run Al Ekhbariya TV channel, Caliber.Az writes.
Authorities confiscated a truck carrying Grad rockets and their launchers. Reports indicate that the weapons were likely intended for the Lebanese group Hezbollah.
This follows a similar seizure near the town of al-Qusayr, approximately 15 kilometers from the border, in which a truck disguised as a vegetable transport was found carrying anti-tank guided missiles, including Kornet missiles, two launchers, and ammunition.
Several individuals were detained in connection with that case, the Syrian Ministry of Internal Affairs said.
