FlixBus overturns in Germany injuring 20
A FlixBus traveling from Copenhagen to Vienna overturned on the A19 motorway in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Germany in the early morning of July 4.
According to police reports, the bus veered off the roadway to the right and tipped onto its side. On board were 53 passengers and two drivers. Twenty passengers sustained injuries in the crash, with one trapped inside the overturned vehicle for approximately two hours before being freed by rescue teams using specialized equipment, Caliber.Az reports via German media.
This individual suffered serious injuries. Both bus drivers escaped unharmed.
Passengers who were not injured were transferred to another bus and taken to the nearby town of Röbel. Authorities have closed the motorway heading toward Berlin as emergency services manage the scene.
The cause of the accident is currently under investigation.
