Russia launches combined strike on Kyiv: dozens injured
Russia launched a combined missile and drone strike on Kyiv during the night of July 31. The city sustained widespread damage, including the destruction of an apartment block entrance. Dozens of people were injured, and there are reports of casualties.
Everything currently known about the aftermath of the Russian attack on Kyiv – as reported by RBC-Ukraine:
On the night of July 31, air raid alerts were declared three times in the capital. The first alert came in the evening of July 30 and lasted over four hours due to a drone attack.
Additional air raid warnings were issued early in the morning due to the threat of ballistic missiles. It was during this time that Russian forces launched a missile strike on Kyiv.
The Solomyanskyi district was the most affected by the drone attack. There, debris fell on residential buildings, non-residential premises, and vehicles, and struck one of the city’s higher education institutions.
Consequences of the combined Russian attack:

In the Svyatoshynskyi district, the entrance of a residential building was destroyed. Fires broke out in several non-residential buildings.

In the Solomyanskyi district, several apartments in different buildings were damaged. Cars caught fire, and there were also fires and destruction at several non-residential sites.

In the Holosiivskyi district, buildings were damaged, including a school and a kindergarten.

In the Shevchenkivskyi district, the blast wave shattered windows in the children’s ward of a medical facility.
In total, the aftermath of the Russian combined attack has been recorded at more than 27 locations across Kyiv.
As of 06:30, one person was reported dead in Kyiv. According to local authorities, there were 27 injured, including police officers.
"By 6:30 a.m., there was one confirmed fatality and more than 20 injured in Kyiv. Among the injured were three police officers who were responding to an emergency call. Two injured individuals were rescued from under the rubble," said Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko.
As of 07:05, the number of injured had risen to 52, with nearly 30 people hospitalised. Among the injured were nine children. The head of the Kyiv City Military Administration noted that the number of casualties is expected to rise.
