Ukrainian forces strike military airfield and major oil refinery in Russia PHOTO / VIDEO

Drones attacked several Russian regions overnight, targeting a military airfield in Krasnodar region and an oil refinery in Leningrad region. Satellite images and videos showing fires have been circulating online.

In Yeysk, Krasnodar region, a military airfield was reportedly attacked, according to the Crimean Wind Telegram channel, with secondary detonations continuing at the site. Satellite imagery showed a fire near the taxiway and storage facilities, as well as in the area of a fuel depot. Local residents also reported that the strikes hit not only the airfield but also a nearby military town.

The airfield is home to the 859th Center for Combat Training and Retraining of Naval Aviation Flight Personnel of the Russian Navy. It also houses the unique NITKA ground-based test and training complex, which is used to train carrier-based aviation crews in takeoffs and landings.

Meanwhile, the Leningrad region came under attack overnight on August 30, with residents posting footage of drones flying overhead. In the morning, Governor Alexander Drozdenko said the attack caused a fire in an industrial area of the city of Kirishi.

Footage circulating online shows a large-scale fire, reportedly at the Kirishi oil refinery.

“Kirishinefteorgsintez” is one of Russia’s largest oil-refining enterprises, with an annual refining capacity of around 20 million tons of crude oil. The facility has been attacked several times previously and, following strikes on May 5, halted shipments of petroleum products.

The Astra Telegram channel also reported drone attacks and explosions in Bryansk. The Bryansk Electromechanical Plant and Bryansk Automobile Plant are located near the area targeted in the attack.

The Bryansk Electromechanical Plant produces electronics for the military, including radio-monitoring and electronic intelligence stations, ground-based electronic warfare (EW) systems, satellite information reception and processing systems, as well as individual components and parts for airborne radar systems and aircraft radars.

The Bryansk Automobile Plant manufactures heavy-duty special wheeled chassis and high-mobility tractors with payload capacities of approximately 14–40 tons. They serve as platforms for air defense systems, including the S-400 Triumf, as well as for specialized civilian equipment.
