Netanyahu’s son rushed back to Israel from US over assassination threat

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s son, Yair Netanyahu, was urgently flown back to Israel from Florida following an alleged Iranian assassination threat, Israel’s Shin Bet security service confirmed to The Jerusalem Post.

The agency confirmed that there had been a serious threat to harm the 35-year-old Netanyahu.

“There was indeed a significant threat to harm Yair Netanyahu, and in light of this, following a situation assessment, a decision was made to extract him together with his security team urgently back to Israel,” the Shin Bet stated.

According to a US law enforcement source, the Islamic Republic’s plans had been known since December last year. During the prime minister’s son’s current stay in Miami, Iranian agents had already been “on the ground,” monitoring the man’s residence and movements.

Last week, the Israeli prime minister referred in an interview to an Iranian attempt to assassinate one of his sons, but did not identify which son.
