Russian attacks on Ukraine leave two dead, 20 injured PHOTO

Russian forces launched a series of attacks on Ukraine on the morning of August 29 using attack drones, aerial bombs and artillery, killing two people and injuring 20 others in several regions.

Ukrinform reported the figures, citing regional military administrations and Ukraine’s State Emergency Service.

In Zaporizhzhia region, 932 strikes were recorded against 48 settlements over the past 24 hours, including 628 drone attacks and 17 airstrikes. One person was killed and 15 injured in attacks on Zaporizhzhia and the surrounding area.

In Odesa region’s Izmail district, a person was killed and three others injured in a night-time attack. Transport infrastructure was damaged, while eight trucks carrying food caught fire.

In Dnipropetrovsk region, the Synelnykove, Nikopol and Pavlohrad districts came under attack. Two people were injured, while infrastructure facilities, an enterprise and a logistics company building were damaged.

In Kharkiv region, Izium was hit by three FAB-250 aerial bombs with UMPK guidance modules. At least 10 residential buildings, shops and the grounds of a non-operational enterprise were damaged. Drone strikes were also recorded in Kharkiv’s Nemyshlianskyi and Shevchenkivskyi districts, where a fire broke out. No casualties were reported.

In Kyiv, an attack caused a fire in an apartment on the ninth floor of a nine-storey building in the Sviatoshynskyi district. The fire also damaged floors and the roof. It was extinguished, with no casualties reported.
