Germany overtakes Brazil in all-time World Cup goals

Germany’s national football team has moved into first place in the all-time list of goals scored at FIFA World Cup tournaments, overtaking Brazil.
The record was set after Germany’s dominant 7–1 victory over Curaçao in the opening match of the 2026 World Cup group stage, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.
The total number of Germany’s goals in World Cup finals has now reached 239.
Brazil previously held the record with 238 goals. The team drew 1–1 with Morocco in its opening match of the tournament.
In the second round of group-stage matches, Brazil will face Haiti on June 20, while Germany will play against Côte d’Ivoire on the same day.
