Hezbollah unveils massive underground rocket launch sites
Lebanese armed group Hezbollah unveiled its latest missile complex, "Imad 4," featuring extensive subterranean tunnels and large rocket launchers.
A video released by Hezbollah's media division, lasting over four minutes, showcased the scale of the underground facility, highlighting its vast tunnels and significant military hardware, Caliber.Az reports, citing foreign media.
The footage also depicted Hezbollah members manoeuvring motorcycles through the tunnels.
According to Hezbollah, the Imad 4 facility is designed to be hidden from Israeli reconnaissance and to offer protection against potential attacks. The video included a statement from Hezbollah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah, asserting that their "resistance rockets" can cover the entire range of Palestinian territory, from Kiryat Shmona in the north to Eilat in the south.
The video also featured an image of Imad Mughniyeh, Hezbollah's military leader who was assassinated in Syria in 2008, and a tribute to Fouad Shokr, who succeeded him and was killed by Israel in Beirut on July 30 of this year.
In response, the Iranian Embassy in Beirut commented on the video, suggesting that Iran could launch attacks from any location within its territory. The statement described Iran’s underground missile installations as “missile cities” that strike fear into its adversaries and emphasized Iran's capability to strike from any location in the country if needed.
Tensions have soared in the region in recent weeks, after a deadly rocket strike in the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights that Israel blamed on Hezbollah. Israel responded with the killing of a top Hezbollah commander in the suburbs of Beirut. Hezbollah has also vowed to retaliate against Israel, as has Iran, for the killing in Tehran of the political chief of the Palestinian Hamas group, Ismail Haniyeh.
