Israeli military delegation travels to US for weapons, ammunition
A high-ranking Israeli delegation has arrived in the US to meet with US military officials and defence industry representatives.
The purpose of the meeting is to secure an immediate deal to purchase weapons to continue fighting and prevent shortages of ammunition and means of warfare.
According to Detaly.co.il, among other things, senior defence officials are trying to bring into Israel thousands of weapons for air force planes, tank and artillery shells, armoured vehicles and many other equipment that will allow the Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) to continue the war in the Gaza Strip along with a possible war in Lebanon.
The delegation, headed by Defence Ministry Director General Eyal Zamir and Major General Eyal Harel, head of the IDF's planning department, will also attempt to initiate the delivery of aircraft and attack helicopters to Israel, but the process could take years.
