Knowledge day in Garabagh: First school bell in 30 years rings in Lachin, Fuzuli PHOTO
A new academic year has started in Fuzuli city, in Mirza Ulugbek Secondary School No 1, for the time in 30 years.
The school is designed for 960 students. The school was built by order of Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev as a gift on behalf of the Uzbek people. In the new academic year, the school is staffed with 11 classes of 160 students, and 15 teachers will teach here, Report informs.
The school has 40 classrooms, 6 laboratories, 2 informatics rooms, 5 functional classrooms, an assembly hall for 500 seats, a sports hall, a canteen for 320 seats, and a library.
On the territory of the school, there is a football field, recreational and event spaces, running tracks, arbours, a checkpoint, a boiler house, water tanks, and a transformer substation.
Similarly, the first school bell in 32 years also rang in Lachin City on September 15, 2023.
In this vein, Lachin Secondary School No. 2 celebrated "Knowledge Day".
The event was attended by MP Mahir Abbaszada, Head of East Zangezur Regional Education Department Fuad Badalov, Head of Lachin District Education Department Nijat Hasanov, other officials, parents and residents of Lachin.
The school will educate 227 children of residents who returned to Lachin city, as well as temporarily - children of families resettled in Zabukh village. The secondary school named after Adalat Mammadov in Zabukh will open on October 1.
President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva attended the opening of secondary school No.2 of Lachin district after major repair on August 25.
Azerbaijan started the return of former internally displaced persons to the liberated lands in July 2022.
The government of Azerbaijan plans to resettle 2,000 families or 10,000 people in the Garabagh and East Zangazur economic regions by the end of 2023.
