Lukashenko, Putin discuss agenda for Union State council meeting in Moscow
Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko held a phone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 19, focusing on preparations for the upcoming meeting of the Supreme State Council of the Union State.
According to Lukashenko’s press service, the two presidents discussed in detail the agenda for the council session, which is scheduled to take place in Moscow next week, Caliber.Az reports per Belarusian state media.
The Supreme State Council is the highest governing body of the Union State, a political and economic integration framework between Belarus and Russia.
During the call, Lukashenko and Putin reviewed key issues expected to be addressed both in the broader format of the council meeting and in a planned one-on-one discussion. The leaders also exchanged views on several pressing matters concerning bilateral Belarusian-Russian relations.
No further details were provided regarding the specific topics to be discussed at the Moscow meeting.
