Rosatom CEO Alexey Likhachev said Ukrainian forces had attacked fuel trucks carrying diesel fuel for the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant, killing two servicemen, Interfax reports.
“On Friday [September 11], a series of combined strikes was carried out against fuel trucks delivering diesel fuel for the needs of the Zaporizhzhia NPP. Two servicemen were killed, and a large number of Russian military personnel were wounded, including some seriously,” Likhachev told reporters.
He noted that the servicemen “were engaged in ensuring this purely civilian mission.”
According to Likhachev, the strikes were carried out in the immediate vicinity of the perimeter of the plant site.
