Turkish SeaHawk helicopters test new ROKETSAN missiles for first time VIDEO
The Turkish Navy has conducted live-fire tests of new missiles on SeaHawk helicopters off the coast of Antalya, using the weapons against both ground and aerial targets.
During the tests, the helicopters deployed L-UMTAS GM and IIR TEMREN missiles manufactured by Turkish defense company ROKETSAN, Caliber.Az reports.
The use of the new munitions expands the capabilities of the SeaHawk helicopters, turning them into multipurpose platforms. The missiles are equipped with infrared seekers and operate on a “fire-and-forget” principle.
The new weapons are expected to enable Turkish helicopters to carry out not only ground-target strike missions but also operations against drones and helicopters.
