Media: Houthis declare Yemen entering new phase of unrestricted conflict with Israel
Member of the Political Bureau of the Ansar Allah movement (Houthis) Ali Al-Qahoum has announced that Yemen is entering a new phase of conflict with Israel, characterised by the absence of red lines.
"Yemen and its leadership are entering a new stage of conflict, forging new alliances without constraints. It is time for Arabs and Muslims to unite, harness their collective strength, and stand together in this battle," he stated, Caliber.Az reports citing the Russian media.
Al-Qahoum's statement followed a strike on the Golan Heights in Israel, which Israeli authorities attributed to the Lebanese Shiite group Hezbollah. Yemen, aligning with Hezbollah, supports the Palestinians in their conflict with Hamas in the Gaza Strip.
The situation concerns an attack on the city of Majdal Shams in the Golan Heights, which, according to recent reports, resulted in the deaths of 12 people, most of them children. Additionally, dozens were injured when a rocket struck a football field. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) identified the missile as an Iranian-made Falaq-1. Following the incident, Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz warned that Israel is on the brink of a full-scale war, not only with Hezbollah but also with Lebanon, from which the group operates.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu responded to Hezbollah, asserting that the group would face severe consequences for the attack. Hezbollah has not claimed responsibility for the incident and has instead informed the UN that the explosion in the Golan Heights was the result of an Israeli air defense missile, according to a US official cited by Axios. Lebanese authorities, facing threats from Israel, have condemned the attack.
