Moldova insists on withdrawal of Russian troops from Transnistria
Moldovan Foreign Minister Nicu Popescu has said that Chisinau will continue to insist on the withdrawal of Russian troops from the Transnistrian region.
"Russia should withdraw its troops from the Transnistrian region. This will create favorable conditions for a peaceful resolution of the Transnistrian conflict," Popescu wrote on his social media account, Interfax reports.
The issue was discussed during Popescu's meetings with the foreign ministers of Romania, Spain, Czech Republic, Denmark and France. The meetings took place on Thursday on the margins of the OSCE Ministerial Council meeting, which is taking place in North Macedonia.
Popescu said that the meetings also focused on Moldova's integration into the European Union, including in the context of the upcoming EU Council meeting.
