NATO allies delay deliveries of promised military equipment to Ukraine
Some NATO allies are reportedly lagging in fulfilling their commitments to Ukraine.
The delay pertains to promises made during the NATO summit in Washington, where leaders pledged to accelerate the delivery of critical military equipment, including air defence systems, Caliber.Az reports via foreign media.
Several countries are not meeting their obligations, particularly in delivering at least five additional long-range systems to Ukraine. These delays suggest that the promised support is unlikely to materialize by autumn.
The summit in July, attended by leaders from the UK, Germany, the US, France, Japan, and 17 other nations, aimed to enhance and synchronize efforts to address Ukraine's complex security challenges. However, the support remains uneven, with some allies failing to adhere to their commitments.
Following the NATO summit in Washington this July, a new mission was established to coordinate efforts among countries for the delivery of military aid to Ukraine.
This includes air defence systems, artillery, F-16s, and training for Ukrainian military personnel.
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg stated that the Alliance will create a permanent structure to organize the supply of weapons to Ukraine and their financing.
Additionally, it was previously reported that the European Commission revealed the details of the Ukraine Compact agreement signed at the NATO summit.
