Russia’s Sverdlovsk Region governor apologises to Azerbaijani ambassador

Governor of Russia’s Sverdlovsk Region Yevgeny Kuyvashev has met Azerbaijani ambassador to Russia Polad Bulbuloglu.

An event on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the formation of the so-called "Talysh-Mughan Autonomous Republic" was held in Yekaterinburg on August 7, 2023. In this regard, the Azerbaijani embassy in the Russian Federation sent a note of protest to the Russian Foreign Ministry, while Ambassador Polad Bulbuloglu sent a letter to governor of the Sverdlovsk Region, in which he expressed the principled position and Azerbaijan's protest, the information policy department of the region told Kommersant-Ural newspaper, according to Azertac.

"The governor of the region apologised to Bulbuloglu and expressed the hope for the conflict settlement," the newspaper wrote.
