Russian envoy criticizes western sanctions & dollar dominance at Global Peace Forum
At the Global Peace Forum held at Tsinghua University, Russian Ambassador to China Igor Morgulov condemned the use of sanctions and dollar hegemony by the US and its allies as coercive tools to achieve political objectives.
He argued that these unilateral sanctions target countries like Russia that reject the dollar's dominance, Caliber.Az reports, citing foreign media.
Morgulov accused the West of trying to revive a unipolar world order by creating divisions and forcing global south nations to align with its bloc.
He also criticized Western nations for neglecting market economy principles, free trade, and the inviolability of private property.
The forum, attended by diplomats and experts from various countries, focused on "Improving Global Security Governance: Justice, Unity and Cooperation" and runs from July 5-7.
