CIS permanent reps to meet in Minsk to prepare for autumn summits

The Council of Permanent Representatives of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) will conveneon July 29 in Minsk to coordinate preparations for a series of high-level summits scheduled for later this year.

The meeting, hosted by the CIS Executive Committee, will focus on finalising the draft agendas for the upcoming sessions of the Council of Foreign Ministers, the Council of Heads of Government, and the Council of Heads of State. These gatherings are expected to take place in the autumn in Dushanbe and Minsk, Caliber.Az reports via the information available at the committee's website.

Bakhtovar Safarzoda, Permanent Representative of Tajikistan and current Chairman of the Council, will deliver a report on the country’s progress as holder of the CIS presidency in 2025. His presentation will outline achievements in the implementation of the presidential Concept and Action Plan during the first half of the year.

The Council will also address ways to improve media coverage of the CIS’s activities, as the organisation seeks to enhance visibility and public understanding of its work across member states and beyond.

The CIS is a regional intergovernmental organisation composed of several former Soviet republics, aimed at fostering political, economic, and security cooperation.
