Russian envoy to Minsk signals relocation of nuclear weapons to western borders of Belarus
Tactical nuclear weapons in Belarus will be relocated to the western borders of the Union State of Russia and Belarus, which will increase the possibility of ensuring its security.
“We have this single space. Until July 1, a storage facility for the deployment of tactical nuclear weapons will be prepared, on the territory of Belarus it will be moved to the western borders of our Union State and will increase the possibilities of ensuring our security,” said Russian Ambassador to Minsk Boris Gryzlov on April 1, reports Belarus TV channel CTV.
According to him, this will be done, despite any concerns in Europe and the United States.
“The fact that there is a lot of noise [in the West] is already good. I think they are finally paying attention to the fact that there should be a certain parity," Gryzlov noted.
“If we are talking about the deployment of American nuclear weapons in European countries, and these are five countries today - Italy, Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, and Türkiye, we must take actions that will increase the security of our Union State.”
According to him, Russia and Belarus are the territories of the Union State, and it is legalized, unlike the territories of other countries where the US deploys its nuclear weapons.
