“A US Navy service member was injured aboard the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72) during flight operations in the Arabian Sea on March 25. The injury is not combat-related and is not life-threatening. <...> The sailor was transported ashore for additional medical care and is in stable condition. The circumstances of the incident are under investigation. The Abraham Lincoln Carrier Strike Group continues to conduct operations in support of Operation Rough Rider,” the statement said.
The United States Navy Fifth Fleet confirmed that the carrier strike group remains operational despite the incident.
