Three Azerbaijani judokas to compete for European Championship medals
The European Judo Championships, which is being held in Montpellier, France, will complete on November 5.
Three Azerbaijani athletes will compete on the last day of the competition, according to Report.
Azerbaijani athletes Murad Fatiyev (90 kg) and Zelym Kotsoiev (100 kg) will begin competing from the 1/16 finals. They will compete with Georgian athlete Lasha Bekauri and UK’s athlete Harry Lovell-Hewitt respectively.
Ushangi Kokauri, representing Azerbaijan in the 100 kg weight category, did not participate in this round. The athlete who will gain a victory over Romanian athlete Mircea Croitoru and Slovakian athlete Marius Fizel will be Kokauri’s opponent and will begin competing from the 1/8 finals.
Hidayat Heydarov (73 kg) as part of the Azerbaijani team, which left for the European Championship with 11 judokas, won a gold medal.
